What is barrel nickel plating?

Barrel nickel plating is a batch electroplating process that uses a perforated, non-conductive barrel type cage to coat small components in a uniform manner. It’s a cost-effective and efficient method that’s ideal for high volumes of parts.

The barrel nickel plating process is ideal for high volume, smaller components and gives a bright, attractive corrosion resistant appearance. The barrel plating process also provides excellent wear resistance for components that may need to survive several assembly/disassembly cycles..

Our barrel nickel plating capabilities

Our barrel nickel plating line is fully automated, making it efficient and economical for this type of batch processing where jigs, hangers and solution agitation is not required. We also have barrel brass and barrel tin plating options.

Specifications up to BS EN 12540:200 SC4 are carried out on our fully automated rack plating plant.

The plant’s advanced intelligent sequencing system allows several different process routes to be controlled simultaneously for example bright chrome, satin chrome, bright nickel or satin nickel.
